Our Ranch Routine for Guest Season 2018-2019
Welcome to the Circle Z Ranch! We are honored you have chosen us for your Ranch Vacation.
The following information will inform our first-time and our long-time friends on how to prepare for their visit to the ranch. Upon your arrival, please come to the ranch office to check in and let us know you are here. Check in is between 4:00 and 6:00 PM.
The Ranch gate is now locked. Please call (520) 394-2525 for the most current code before your arrival.

All children (6-17) are required to wear a helmet while riding. Helmets are provided by the ranch. For all guests, both new and old hands, the first ride of your stay will be a walking ride. Loping on subsequent trail rides will be at the discretion of the ranch managers.
CHECK IN/CHECK OUT: Check in is anytime between 4:00 and 6:00 PM.
Please notify us in advance if you must schedule a different arrival time so that we can be better prepared for you.
Please make arrangements for payment in the office upon your arrival.
On your day of departure, rooms need to be vacated by 10:00AM unless prior arrangements have been made with the ranch managers.
For Sunday to Thursday stays, check out is 2:00 PM

Sorry, no pets are allowed.
High speed Internet is available in the Cantina, however, it is unavailable during Adult Social hour.
CLIMATE: The weather at Circle Z, although generally sunny, mild and beautiful, can be unpredictable. Located at 4000 feet of elevation, this desert highland can often see temperature swings of up to 40 degrees in a day. It is advised to dress in layers for weather and sun protection. Please remember to prepare for your rides with hats, sunscreen and water. Water bottles are available at the ranch for your use.
MEALS: If you have any dietary restrictions, please call or email the ranch to let us know your needs at least one week before your arrival. This will allow our kitchen to be prepared for your stay.

The Adult Cantina (including the deck) is the only guest building where the children are not allowed.
BYOB: Remember, we don’t sell liquor, but you may bring your own.
Liquor, beer, and wine may be purchased in nearby Patagonia.
The Adult Cantina is where you will find a personalized “bar tag” and cubby hole for your alcoholic drinks. For refrigerated bottles, please put your name on your bottles. Snacks, mixers, and ice are available. The Cantina sports a piano and relaxing adults only lounge. Lifetime friendships are made here!
Sorry, no one under the age of 18 is allowed in the Adult Cantina.
SMOKING: We are a non-smoking facility. The only location where smoking is permitted is in the Bonfire area across from the cantina. Please be courteous of others sensitivities.
HORSEBACK RIDING: Circle Z Ranch takes pride in our safety standards. As a refresher, every guest’s first ride will be a walking ride. We will provide loping instruction in the arena for those interested. If you wish to groom your horse, please let us know. Loping on subsequent trail rides is at the discretion of the ranch managers. All riders are required to wear smooth-soled boots with heels for riding. Tennis shoes or hiking boots are not allowed, as they are not safe for riding a horse. If you don’t have any, we have a selection of second hand boots and hats that you can borrow! We suggest pantyhose, Capri pants, or bike pants to wear under your jeans to help prevent chafing. Mole skin or gauze pads help sore spots. Gloves are desirable on cooler days and to prevent sunburn on the tops of your hands. Gloves are available for purchase if you don’t have them. Rain showers in winter are not unusual and we provide slickers should you need them.
If you are pregnant, you will need specific written permission from your doctor allowing you to ride. The horse that fits your needs best will be yours throughout your entire stay. Basic instruction is offered without charge from our experienced wranglers. We offer horseback riding every morning and afternoon except Sundays. Whether a novice or experienced in the saddle, the ranch accommodates all guests with a ride to suit their skill levels and preferences. You might want to join a one hour ride or a regular two hour ride; a slow ride is for those who want to walk mostly, a medium ride includes loping in appropriate places. Throughout a week-long stay, trailer rides, saloon rides into town, lunch and breakfast rides, team penning and games on horseback are regular events, as well as campfires.
Children and Riding: For your children’s safety, helmets are required for all children 17 & under. Riding is available to any child who has reached his/her 6th birthday. A parent may be required to ride with his or her child at the discretion of the foreman and ranch managers. Parents may choose to ride with their children or in a group of just their family.
RANCH AMENITIES: Bring your swim suit! The pool is heated to 80°. Don’t forget sunblock to avoid getting sunburned! You may also enjoy tennis, horseshoes, basketball, shuffleboard and ping pong. Our new Game Room has billiards, foosball and an assortment of board games and puzzles. Bring your binoculars for bird watching and, by all means, pack your hiking boots. We challenge you to see what’s at the top of Circle Z Mountain! Golfers may enjoy any of several courses in the area.
Our elevation is 4000′, so we recommend that you bring layers of warm clothing, especially for the cool mornings and evenings.
